SES’s Tallahassee office provided geotechnical and environmental services for a new $13.8 million Emergency Management Operations Center at Tyndall Air Force Base, in Bay County, Florida. The new 21,000-square-foot facility will be built stronger and more resilient than the existing facility (which was converted from an old water plant) with a reinforced concrete-grade beam foundation and floor slab, masonry walls with accents of metal panel and precast concrete, structural steel roof framing, standing seam metal and built-up roofing systems. SES crews will be a part of demolishing the existing structures on site as well as constructing the new EOC building, supporting infrastructure including an electric yard, mechanical yard, and associated pavement areas, and one large bioswale stormwater management facility. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2023.
