Mr. Smilie has worked in the geotechnical, environmental and construction materials testing field for the past 34 years, having spent the last 31 of those years with SESI. Mr. Smilie is the Construction Materials Testing Manager for our branch office in Summerdale, Alabama.
Mr. Smilie has a broad range of experience including analysis and classification of soils in the laboratory; construction materials testing & inspection; storm water permitting and compliance; real estate assessments for environmental and geotechnical concerns; building assessments for asbestos and lead-base paint.

He is a graduate of the University of South Alabama where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geo-Sciences. His professional registrations include: Asbestos Inspector, Asbestos Planner, Lead-Based Paint Inspector and Storm Water Qualified Credentialed Inspector.
